Les Clefs d’Or
Australia
President's Welcome Message
On behalf of the executive committee and all the members of Les Clefs d’Or Australia I welcome you to our website.
It is my honour and privilege to lead a team of professional Concierge in such a prestigious organization, committed to delivering service excellence.
The Society of the Golden Keys plays an important role in supporting Concierge professionals around the world, by providing a structured network within which we can operate effectively. For the society as a group to provide the best possible service to the guests in our care, we are able to rely on the assistance of our colleagues around Australia and also internationally, for advice, technical assistance or access to resources.
The Australian chapter of Les Clefs d’Or is one of the smaller of those within the UICH (Union International Concierge Hotels) family, with approximately 47 members compared with our colleagues in France, Italy, China and the USA for example, who may have several hundred members each. Nonetheless this has not prevented us from making our own mark on the world stage, with former Australian President Tony Facciolo OAM distinguishing himself when he made history as the first non-European International President of the Society. Tony and his dear friend and founding Secretary Alfred Jasinski pioneered the Concierge profession in Australia and their wonderful contribution to the Society of the Golden Keys is well documented in our Australian Chapter page.
We also have a number of current members working within the UICH, including International Past President & Sage Colin Toomey of The Shangri-La Sydney, International 2nd Vice President James Ridenour of The Next Hotel Melbourne and Zone Director of Southeast Asia & Oceania David Luff of Park Hyatt Sydney.
Each year our various state chapters host a range of events, including membership training workshops, Tourism and “Meet the Region” Expos, and Concierge & Hospitality Balls, which are designed to both develop Concierge staff and also provide networking opportunities with our industry associates. These events are always well received by the hospitality and tourism industry, and the members of the Society invariably look forward to the opportunity they provide to catch up with our many friends and supporters and also to the opportunity to raise funds for our very worthy charities.
On behalf of my fellow members, I would like to thank you for visiting our website and do hope that we can be of service to you.
Yours in Friendship,
Dean McWhinney
President Les Clefs d’Or Australia.
